Chapter Four The Balance of Power

As we already know, most of the time the person who takes the control of the class uses to be the teacher, but we as teachers must be aware about this situation, because not every single time, it is going to be useful, nor for students neither for teacher, because at the moment that the teacher takes all the control in the classroom, it means that the teacher is going to be the person who says something and students just follow intructions, what we are making is forming just pasive people, not real learners, because students who have the costum to follow just intructions, tend to ahve problems at the moment to take some decisions when they have to develop a free activity, pasive students, tend to feel up set when they do not know how do develop something, because they have the necessity that someone else could explain them how to develop something. It is for these reasons that we have to think that not in every single class we have to take the absolute control to the class, instead of that we have to let students to take their own decisions, in that way they can also fell more comfortable with the activities and tasks that can be assigned, students can become more active and take their own decision about how to develop any activity.

Chapter Eight Responding to Resistance

As we already know there are some different techniques, strategies and methods that we as teachers can employ in the classroom in order to teach our students, it is for that reason that we must be prepared for different situations that can be presented at the moment to teach our students, because sometime they are not going to respond to different activities that can vbe developed in the class in the way we hope, when we face some reactions , like the once when students do not feel comortable in the classroom,  they do not like to participate in interactive activities, or even they do not do the assignments in the way we hope, even if students have the capacity enough to do this, it can be because thy are showing resistance to the methodology that we are using in the classroom. In those cases we have to think a lot in order to implement techniques that can help us to teach students, and that at the same time these can help students to learn in accurately way, we have to think how to motivate our students to do their best.

Speaking Unit Eight

In order to understand what really speaking is, we need to know first af all that this is a productive skill that this is a way how people can produce the language and communicate each other,  it is for this reason that we need to know some fators that can help us at the moment to communicate,  some of the most important factors about how a person can communicate his or her ideas accurately is to consider the correct word pronunciation,  the way how we formulae and respond to questions, the intonation that we use at the moment to speak, how we request for something, at the momet to speak we also need to pay attention to our own mistakes and try to correct them. Also we need to be appropriately at the moment to use the language,  it means to have a correct register. It is also important to mention speaking subskills, these are, making use of grammar and vocabulary, functions.  Ake the use of register in order to speak in an appropriated way. We also need to use body language in order to make easier that people could understand us.  Furthermore, we need to be fluent and try to capture people interest at the moment we speak, it is for that reason , that we need to be motivated and we need to be confident about what we intend to say..

Listening Unit Seven

What I have learnt from this unit about listening, is that listening is a receptive skill that can take an important place or can be involved with the responding to language rather than producing it. At the moment that we talk about listening it can involve also making sense of meaningful sounds of the language. So, it is also important to mention that the listening skill involves understanding spoken language.  For the listening skill is important to take into account some factors such as the comprehension of utterances the sense that the speaker can also provide, the vocabulary, and the situation.  At the moment that we can identify factors like the situation, the context, or feeling that the person has at the moment to speak or communicate, we infer or deduce the meaning of the spoken language that we need to understand, because recognizing this factors make easier our understanding.
We need also to know that there are some listening subskills that can help us to improve our listening skill, we can see that inside this skill we have some subskills that can help us to understand that listening can include different strategies in order to understand spoken language in a better way, in this we have listening for gist or for undertanding language in general, we also have listening for detailed information or especific information.  This can be tools that ca help us to understand people in a better way.

Writing Unit Six

Something relevant to say about what I learnt from this unit, is that, here in this unit I found some teminology, characteristics, steps and skill that we have to take into account at the moment that we are developing or practicing our writing skills. It is for that reason that I included some terms in this work, because I consider these are very important. First of all, it is important to mention that writing skill, is a productive skill, where we can find different kind of language use, it means vocabulary that can depend on the formality level of the writing, we also can use our own style, level of complexity, the way how we can arrange the information, it means the layout that we can use to express our ideas in a written form. It is also relevant to yake into account the different skills that we can find in this skill, as it is writing. The writing skill, involve other subskills, that cn be related to accuracy,  where we can find aspects like the correct spelling, punctuation,  vocabulary, grammar use and correct sentences and paragraph structure. And we also have the subskill, related to communicating,  which includes, using appropriate style, register and functions, ideas organization, in order to express ideas in a correct way. At the moment to write something, we also have to think about the steps that we must follow in order to have a good work. The firs step that we have to take into account at the moment to begin with the writing is to think about some ideas in order to brainstorm them, after that we have to do our firs draft, where we can make some changes, then we need to edit the first draft, after that we can begin with the final resul that we can get after some revisions and improvements.
In my case, what i have considered from this chapter as something relevant at the moment to think as a teacher, is that we have to teach our students, the correct way, how they can develop a good written work, since they are children , in that way, I consider that can be easier for them to use the steps to create a very well done writing assignment.

Reading Unit Five

In this unit about reading, I could find some different terminology that are very important to keep in mind, in order to understand in a better way the reading skill. The first important thing to know about reading is to remember that this is a receptive skill, hat involves making sense of written texts . At the moment to understand a text is important to take into account some terminology about the word, sentence, and paragraph level. At the moment to think about some characteristics about a reading text we have to know what is a discourse, that is concerned by grammar and vocabulary also the previous knowledge we have about the world. It is important to know about coherence and cohesion and the relationship that these terms have between each other, in order to understand how can be a text structured. For reading skill, we have to consider other skills or subskills included inside this topic, that we can use in order to understand a text, we can have some skills like skimming or reading for understanding the global or general idea. Reading for specific information or scanning. Infering, through this skill we can know the words, register, grammar or style that the writer used for the text. Deducing, to think about the situation. Predicting, to use clues to guess what the text is about.
